Graduation Night Wednesday, May 7, 2008 with Showtime at 8pm

Class conducted by Chili Challlis.
Chili is a former staff writer and still contributing writer for NBC’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and standup comedian for 20+ years. Chili has also written for Pulitzer Prize winning political cartoonist and humorist Mike Peters, and for the national comic strip "Mother Goose and Grimm" as well as for many other famous stand-ups and the nationally syndicated radio show "The Bob and Tom Show".
Class will workshop all aspects of standup comedy including:
…How to do standup comedy from the ground up
…Finding your comedic “voice” and stage image
…The importance of timing and how to best use it to your advantage
…Microphone techniques
…How to punch up your best punch lines!
…The power of laughter in fighting stressful situations
…Tips for successful monologue or speech writing
…Tons of information on the ins and outs of comedy
…How to get work in comedy

...Watch our open mic night every Wednesday AND our national headliners every Thursday and Friday night at the Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase as an optional part of the class (free admission for 2) for the duration of the class, excluding Special Engagements.  A value of at least $120.00

Graduation Night: On Graduation Night each student will perform on stage at the Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase at our regular Wednesday night show. A chance for family and friends to see how your hard work paid off!!

Graduation: Wednesday,  May 7, 2008 – Showtime 8pm

Cost of class: $199.00 per person – a nonrefundable deposit of $50.00 is required by Saturday, March 29, 2008.

Balance of $149.00 is due at the start of the first class, Monday March 31, 2008 at 7pm.

A full refund, minus deposit, will be given if you are not able to attend more than the first class session.

Classes are limited to 25 persons.
